Viruses? 12?
I just got online and the windows defender came up saying I have 25 vulnerabilities. Yet, when I click on the Window PC to Activated, it says it's denied. It asked for product code. I don't have it as it was suppose to be part of the One Care Quest Deal!!! IE won't let me click on their (Defenders activation) button for an online 'Key Lic #." Why does it show I have Windows Defender, but then, I won't allow me to do anything! -------------------- |

Maybe you could do a search for Window PC Activated and Denied and see if you get any hits. -------------------- "America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Last night both my hubby and I called two different tech supports and they offered no help at all. Of course, I always get the foreigners that tell me my phone isn't working,,,,,,
We decided we had no choice but to call in the morning and get someone else on the phone. But like an hour later "One Care" then had screen telling me that One Care had located the virus and quarantined it and repaired another gile. The "Defender" then left the bottom of the screen and no more alerts have happened since. But what's odd is that I have looked in my programs and in add/remove programs and I can't find "Windows PC Defender" anywhere. I was hoping to locate it. The ad aware I have, Window Explorer deactivated to protect my puter (That's what the window message said). So apparently, not only did AVG conflict with Quest One Care, so does Adaware. I had One Care do a full scan at midnight and it showed everything was fine (no viruses). It was a bit upsetting; especially when we are so close to completing the cookbooks for our WHOLE church fundraiser with almost 200 recipes! Also I was worried because I have my puter networked with my daughter's and was afraid we wouldn't be able to get into her curriculum as it's on software. So , I am glad everything looks (I HOPE) normal. Thanks for your help. It's nice to have support. Pray nothing happens to my puter before now and then. -------------------- |

Should I delete it and just make another one for desktop? -------------------- |

Still have big issues after all!! That Defender slammed more intrusions. One care removed and fixed one of those. I have been on the phone with Quest, Microsoft both hung up on me as they didn't have any answers (Still accents when I clicked for ENGLISH!! And chat line with Defender...all they want is for me to buy their stuff. She will not even address the issues.
Had to shut down Shineese's puter as her started getting pop-ups and wouldn't respond to her home school page! NICE...Everyone I have called and chatted with are wearing "IDIOT" buttons on their shirts!! Why are they working there?! -------------------- |

Good News....Our school support tech called and we cross looped. HE downloaded that malawarebytes and ran a full scan. Guess what ?! The Windows PC Defender was a BAD corruption. Malaware removed 746 infected objects!! Windows PC Defender being one of them. Mostly the names were Rouge Windows and Security hijack!!!
I looked in Programs and the Windows PC Defender is gone! I thought it was suspicious when the lady that e-mailed me info had a weird addy. And interestingly enough AD AWARE is working again!! -------------------- |

Hope all is fixed and working for you now, Sonshines.

Thanks!!!
Right now, I am doing the same scan on Shineese's computer. I hope all is well on hers too! That was one vicious scam!! If someone older like a Grandmother would have experienced that, she would have been frightened and gave that defender place her CC#!! No wonder she wasn't willing to address any issues other than "BUY FROM US, WE'RE MORE POWERFUL." YIKES and to think it shut off my internet for an hour. Remember, if you get "Windows PC Defender" is corruption! -------------------- |

I am getting ticked off. Once again, another hacker claims to have infected my puter. Let's see, last time, clicking on "Biblical" looking for things for my son's curriculum, and just now, looking for a cute power point that would show Shineese the explanation (Photo -like) of what photosynthesis is, I get slammed!! Why is it all of a sudden I am getting crap! I am running malwarebytes once again! I hate this!
Malware revealed nothing. I am running One Care now, next Adaware. If nothing shows up then what's up? As soon as I clicked on a link, a window came up and said the computer is infected and show something downloading into hard drive.... How do I stop these crazy things?!! -------------------- |
