The Bible is just as clear about God's hatred of lying and gossiping as it is about God's stance on divorce. But Christians didn't discriminate against gossips (probably because it was a taint that the majority of them shared). Divorced people constituted a much smaller minority (1960's) so they were easy targets.

I like that excerpt, Daniel, because it's so incredibly true. Sin is sin is sin and we're all sinners, no better than the next sinner. Yet so many Christians like to point to particular sins in others while ignoring others.
